About Us
When the boutique franchise we supplied sleepwear to closed down, we started making fancy dress costumes for pre-school and primary school plays. I discovered that I loved working with kids, especially seeing their excitement when trying on a costume, so something that was supposed to be temporary became permanent.
Round about this time I started having kids of my own and they have been a big influence on the costumes I design. My daughter at the age of 3 decided she would only wear dresses (after previously refusing from the moment she could say "no", and yes it was her first word!) Being part princess, skateboarder extraordinaire and stealthy ninja we had many destroyed costumes and I had to play dressing assistant because zips were hard to reach or costumes were to complicated to put on unaided. I started making designs that looked cute and "princessy" enough to make her happy but were practical and sturdy enough to play in for hours. l also started making everything in the "pull-over" style and presto no more wardrobe changes for me!
When Covid hit we had to come up with new ideas to sell our products, since schools were closed, so we began selling a limited range on Takealot. It has steadily grown from there and so we decided to launch our own website. My son, who is now all grown up and has just started Varsity, is helping with the website and social media since his mother is "hopeless" (sadly that's a direct quote and even sadder is he's not wrong!).
We hope this new direction will mean we can also get more feedback from our customers as we are always interested to hear what costumes are popular with your kids or what they would most like to wear. We would love to hear your suggestions on what we can add to our current catalogue.
